Halloween is back :)

Well last year I have had the pleasure to show our personal graveyard Smile

last year work can be found in this my old post:

Halloween is quite here- how we made our personal graveyard

This year we made some improvements to the structure and I would like to share them with you Winking smile

so here what we have done Smile:

We started from last year work (you can see it in this picture, and we just simply improved the concept (at least we hope this is what it looks like Winking smile)IMG_4699

So basically we thought that a good graveyard would need some more graves, this was our first intent. DevilLuckily the ones we made last year were still working so we didn’t have had to start from scratch. then we added some character, a death drinking a beer after hanging a skeleton (you know everyone deserve a break Winking smile).

Then added some spiders and spider webs here and there, a few bones on the ground, the usual stuffs.

But we thought to decorate also the gates with some tiny lovely skulls.

Ok I have to admit that not all the neighborhoods appreciate the work, here in Italy just a few use to decorate home for halloween but, come on, is a great moment to have some fun, isn’t it?

And Here I’ve posted the result, hope you enjoy itVampire bat as much as we enjoyed to build this up. Isn’t it Lovely? I mean as you can see we added a new character with our ol’friend the skeleton SmileGhost

Ok I admit I like this platform more, but apparently my interpretation of the agreement would not match the interpretation of wordpress.com support so my news of the world blog has been disabled.

Since does not worth fight for a blog I moved it back to blogger.com hoping that this will not cause the closure of my other wordpress.com blogs Smile (you never know those days….)

So see you there for security news.

The gag is back: let’s stop it now!

Berlusconi-comizio

Image via Wikipedia

***************Italian version below**********************

Dear friends across Italy,

Berlusconi’s government is shamelessly trying to bulldoze the infamous “gag law” through Parliament again — a law which undermines the pillars of our democracy. Our politicians are in shambles — only a public uproar can stop it now. Click below to sign the urgent petition for democracy and freedom of information. We only have a few days left!

Sign the petition

It’s outrageous! The infamous “legge bavaglio” is back on the table and Parliament could pass it any day now – only a massive public outcry can stop it.

Berlusconi’s coalition is in tatters, but as he goes down he is using his majority to bulldoze through the “gag law”, which would fatally curb the power of our legal system to fight crime and corruption, and impose draconian penalties for editors, journalists and bloggers who try to hold politicians accountable. Last year, we fought this law and won. Now it is up to us again — let’s fight back to save our democracy!

They could try to push this through anytime! Nearly 500,000 Italians are already calling on Parliament to reject the “bavaglio” law and protect freedom of the press — let’s get to 750,000 now! Click below to sign, then forward this to everyone you know — the petition will be delivered directly to the members of Parliament and at every crucial vote over the next 2 weeks:

http://www.avaaz.org/en/no_bavaglio_2/?vl

With disgraceful new corruption and sex scandals affecting our Prime minister and senior members of the government, including underage prostitution and public contracts given in exchange for girls, Berlusconi’s government is shamelessly trying to pass this law which would restrict judicial surveillance and intimidate editors, journalists and bloggers.

Last year we forced Parliament to shelve the “gag law”, through our huge public mobilization that attracted massive international media attention and helped split the government coalition. But now, Berlusconi’s disastrous mandate seems near its end, and he’s desperately trying to shield himself and his allies from being convicted, and put a lid on the press to stop new scandals being published.

If the “bavaglio law” is finally passed, we will no longer be able to gather crucial evidence to try corruption cases and to hold our politicians accountable, and a fundamental bedrock of our democracy will be demolished. Only we can stop it! Sign the urgent petition now and get everyone to sign on:

http://www.avaaz.org/en/no_bavaglio_2/?vl

Over the last two years, together we’ve successfully obstructed Berlusconi’s multiple attempts to impose gags on the media, the judiciary and the Internet, threatening the very core of our democracy. But as the sun finally begins to go down on his disgraceful government, he is trying again. We cannot let our guard down now — we are the guardians of this democracy. Berlusconi’s cabal is on the offensive, and it’s up to us to show him and his powerful allies that we will keep fighting until our fundamental rights and freedoms are fully respected and protected.

With determination,

Giulia, Luis, Alice, Ricken, Pascal, Benjamin and the rest of the Avaaz team

Cari amici in Italia,

http://www.avaaz.org/it/no_bavaglio_2/?cl=1306579879&v=10593

Good Bye Steve

LONDON - JUNE 15: (FILE PHOTO) Steve Jobs, Ch...

Is a sad moment for every tech fan.

Steve Jobs has design a big part of our world, with his vision and genius gave us tablets, smartphones, computer animation movies and so much things we today consider normal or simply cool.

He was nor a Saint or an Angel, but for sure a genius with an incredible talent to foresee and create the future.

We will miss his arrogance, because was the arrogance of someone who knows how to create the future.

He made us dream with his ideas, his talent and his strength.

Now we can only remember him and learn from his lessons: dare is never wrong.

I’ve never been an Apple fan (but a Pixar one for sure), I have windows and linux laptops at home, but I must say that is because of Steve if I have my android tablet and my blackberry smartphone, he design a path that everyone followed. This is genius, being able to understand people and give an expression to their desires.

He was one of the greatest actor of this comedy we call life, and I thank him.

Rest in Peace Steve, may the gods of Technology take you with them, you owned that seat.

Wikipedia Hides Italian Language Edition to Protest New Law
PCWorld
By John Ribeiro, IDG News Wikipedia said it was hiding the Italian edition of the online encyclopedia to protest against a proposed new rule in the country, that will require websites to publish corrections within 48 hours of content being found

Ok when we will see the end of the tunnel? Italy is well known for an inefficient political class, but what many does not know is how good they’re to put barrier against free speech and, generally spaking, the intenet.

It is not just this new law temptative, that would put in severe danger every Italian blogger, but a general consensus in all the political class and most of the imprenditorial one that internet and new technologies are a useless luxury. at the end also the “digital divide”is not perceived as an issue, and when there are activities to make people aware of it (thing at “agenda digitale” project) it is blamed by the same politics that should try to help this country to be more modern and enter into this century.

It is not a week where the “confindustria” organization forgot to mention technology as one of the pillar to rebuilt competitiveness to this poor country. It seems that the ones that drive this country are not found of technology, they dislike it look with suspect it.  the only good thing is that usually legislation on technical subject is done by people who does not know anything about technology itself and so, at the end, the law will be forgot because controls will be unavailable from a technical point of view. Is this bad? is this good?

I can only say that this will leave us all in a grey area where the understanding of a subject and the technical implication will be the key to have, or not, problems. Again we’ll have to fight for the internet here, the new fight of a long long series.

we’ll see

A new beginning

It was a not easy decision to make some changes but at the end I finally took the decision to move my blogs all here in wordpress. there have been several driver, but the main reason is that here everything is easier.

So after some years PostOffice and PostOffice2 close to reborn as “A.I.Tech update” and “News from the World”.

A fresh start with a new look, where “The Puchi Herald” and the other two will look as the same entity. Just hope that nobody in Italy would think this is a real newspaper, or I would have to close, :)  lol

I know I’ll have to regain the trust of the 4 or 5 people that used to read my old blogs but I hope that this simpler approach would benefit both the writer and the readers :)

have a great time and thanks

ciao

Antonio

Howard Stringer was wrong, sony hack was also his fault

Howard Stringer

Image via Wikipedia

Howard Stringer recently declared that Sony the several Sony hack were done because Sony was trying to protect its IP. he denied any responsability on the events, declaring also that the PSN networks was not even a credible target for an hacking attack.

I’m quite surprised by this position, I know that managers do not like to admit errors but was Sony hack unpredictable?

If what mr Stringer would be correct, the hack were dome because Sony was trying to protect its IP (Intellectual Property) so how come they did not think about possible hacking hactivity?

Assuming that he was talking about the hacking of Sony consoles, affair that have had a great press coverage some times ago, with also legal issues for the hacker that exposed the cheat on the web, did he really think that this would not have moved some angry hacker against the PSN network?

come on so naive?

But anyway how comes that experts says that was quite an easy hack, the security structure was not properly managed and deployed? And did he really though that data of PSN users were not interesting for cybercriminality? even if there have been before Sony hack a great number of user data stealing hack?

I’m sorry mr. Stringer, but Sony hack showed bad management, bad execution and loss of respect of customers.  And being not able to weight correctly current world cyber implication and threat is not an excuse, if you choose to enter the cyber world you cannot then play like you are out, or you will pay it.

till now the price has been on your company and your customers shoulders, this is not fair, isn’t it?

So keep some responsibility and things will be better.

:)
